Outspoken TV presenter Piers Morgan, who often sparks reactions along with his criticism, has voiced assist for music icon Paul McCartney after Glastonbury set was criticised for having ‘not sufficient Beatles hits’.
The previous Good Morning Britain presenter, who exhibits no mercy to some well-known character of the world, has taken it upon himself to defend McCartney following the latter’s headline set at Glastonbury 2022.
McCartney’s Saturday night time set was hailed by many as top-of-the-line the competition had ever hosted. Mark Beaumont described it in The Unbiased’s evaluate as “far and away the very best this author has seen on the Pyramid stage in 30 years of Glastonburies”.
Nonetheless, some social media customers criticized the set for not together with sufficient Beatles hits within the setlist – prompting the previous Good Morning Britain host to weigh in.
“Twitter’s moaning Macca ‘did not do sufficient Beatles hits,” Morgan wrote.
“He performed ‘Cannot Purchase Me Love’, ‘Love Me Do’, ‘I Noticed Her Standing There’, ‘Girl Madonna’, ‘Blackbird’, ‘Get Again’, ‘One thing’, ‘Let It Be’, and ‘Hey Jude’.
“These songs alone are 9 of the best pop songs ever,” he added.
Paul McCartney was seen holding aloft a Ukrainian flag when he took the stage for an encore at his headline set on Saturday.
