Stephen Kelly is a Scottish singer-songwriter and has recently released his new single ‘Lazy Way You Look’ following on from Stephen’s debut single, ‘Tears Run Dry’. He takes a lot of inspiration from 60’s pop and some of his favorite bands are Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, Nash and The Everly Brothers. speaking to The Daily Records Kelly said: “I wanted the song to reflect that kind of casual coolness, both in the lyrics and the uplifting, summery sound, and I think the old-school harmonies really capture that perfectly.”
The track kicks off with piano and gentle guitar riffs; his vocals kick in soon after and his voice and lyrics are amazing. The lyrics are very heartfelt and he sings about reminiscing about someone/something and feeling like they’re out of reach and wishing it would come back again – it’s very captivating and sounds like the type of song that you would play on a summer day lounging in the sun. ‘Lazy Way You Look’ has that 60’s rock sound and is very relaxing and catchy with a fantastic bassline and drumbeat.
